Acupuncture Anesthesia while performing surgery on a patient by Dr. Changsheng Xu at Shanghai Hospital, China.
|
Dr. Xu, as a surgeon and acupuncturist, learned and developed his professional experience while
working along side his father Dr. Changsheng Xu, a world-renowned
professor and chief surgeon and he was the founder of acupuncture anesthesia in
the department of surgery at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,
Shanghai China. Most significant for Dr. Mark C. Xu is his ability to combine western
and eastern medical knowledge and practice WE medicine in innovative and effective
ways in order to handle clinical challenges.
One of Dr. Xu’s earliest successful acupuncture experiences is after performing an abdominal surgery, he found himself dealing with a complication from the epidural anesthesia. Normally a patient’s intestines begin to move after two days, but after three days and counting, the paralysis was causing gas formation and extreme bloating in the abdominal cavity. To solve this complication, Dr. Xu performed acupuncture to promote bowel movement and after several hours this critical condition began to resolve itself as normal bowel function began to resume.
He has healed a number of chronic diseases such as: Musculoskeletal Pain, Sciatica, Men’s health & Impotence, Women’s health & Infertility, Stress, Migraine, Bell’s palsy, Anxiety & Depression and more …
|
Dr. Xu obtained his Master of Science degree in molecular biology
from Western Kentucky University. He completed his thesis, Purification and Characterization of a Deoxyribonucleas which relates
to DNA replication, fidelity, and repair.
As a Biomedical
scientist, Dr. Xu carried on research at Vanderbilt University Medical
Center that resulted in a number of paper publications. His work included studying
and evaluating newly developed antagonists for both acute and chronic chemical intoxication, which results in liver, kidney, and urenogenital
organ damages. |
|
One of Dr. Xu’s most impressive accomplishments is the
finding of biochemical evidence of a cadmium-induced apoptosis in testicular tissue
(programmed cell death evidenced by DNA fragmentation). This work is published in
the Journal of Toxicology.

Dr. Xu is intelligent and compassionate and he is skilled and scholarly.
He is a medical doctor in China, a biomedical scientist, and a licensed Acupuncturist
